The practitioner looks at your overall complexion, posture, demeanor, and tongue. Tongue observation alone reveals constitutional patterns and acute imbalances.医师观察您整体面色、神态、姿势、舌象。单舌诊即可反映体质倾向与当前失衡。

Listen + smell · 闻闻 · Listen & smell
Voice tone, breathing patterns, cough quality. In TCM "闻" covers both listening and (when relevant) smell — both reveal organ system imbalances.声音、呼吸、咳嗽性质。中医「闻」涵盖听声与嗅味，皆反映脏腑失调。

Detailed history-taking: chief complaint, symptom timing, sleep, appetite, digestion, energy, emotions, menstrual cycle (if applicable). The conversation is the longest part of any TCM consultation.详细问诊：主诉、症状时程、睡眠、食欲、消化、体力、情志、月经（如适用）。对话是每次中医问诊中最长的部分。

Palpate (pulse) · 切切 · Palpate
Pulse-taking at the wrist (six positions, three depths). Each position reflects an organ system. For video consultations, the practitioner may ask you to describe pulse-related symptoms in lieu of physical palpation.寸口脉诊（三部九候）。每个部位反映一个脏腑。视讯问诊时，医师可能会请您描述脉相相关症状以代替亲自切脉。
